Creating a Rainbow Connection

I'm addicted to Pinterest.

Seriously. The only thing about Pinterest that I don't like, is that it makes me want to eat food. All the time. But it also inspires me to try new things.

My close friend made rainbow cupcakes, and they looked Delicious. She explained to me how she just used food coloring to dye the cakes then just poured the batter in the cupcake tin. I was astonished. HOW DID I NOT LEARN HOW TO DO THIS EARLIER? I told myself that i was going to make rainbow cupcakes. I was determined. But I needed inspiration. This is were Pinterest comes along. as I looked through all the 'pins', I had an epiphany. Why make rainbow cupcakes when you can make a cake?

That's where it all began.

after studying the recipe off Whisk Kid, I not only decided i was going to make this cake,  I decided i was going to make it WELL. Determination is key.

Food coloring. Check.

I baked the red and orange batter. They looked so wonderful. I was so proud. Until the cakes decided they didn't want to be taken out of the pan. I was discouraged, but i decided i was going to make cake balls out of the crumbled batter. (It ended up in the trash, despite my plans) i had to remake the red and orange batter, and the yellow cake barely came out in one piece, but after baking and A LOT of cake, this i what i got after stacking and frosting the inside, in between each cake. Terrible. I know.

Catching Up With Summer

I'm not completely sure how to start a blog all professionally, to be truthful. It's kind of like rolling a rock down a hill though, once you push it, it starts rolling. (At least i hope that's what it's like) but, i'm just gonna continue on like it's just another blog post. So... Bear with me. Trust me, it's gonna be an awesome blog. And if i can create or bake all this stuff, so can you. Because I AM NOT an expert. AT ALL. Anyway, Let's continue.

My summer vacation began on June 8. About one or two weeks after the beginning of break my family went on an annual camping trip. we just got a new camper (which is wonderful, but we got it used so it did hold a few... inconveniences, you could say) but it i still a wonderful new camper and the 1 pop out defiantly makes it more spacious. After a rainstorm, we discovered that our lot was completely flooded and we decided we needed to move. We chose our lot and slowly carried our stuff over. yes. Everything. Although it was quite a hassle, we were closer to the woods. So, yes, more mosquitos, but we also were visited by some furry friends.

We had kept a stash of nuts. Just in case. You never know if a fuzzy new buddy might come along. At first he would just grab the nut from my hand and take a few steps back. After a while I got to the point were I decided to keep a line of nuts on my leg so i could just keep taking pictures while he took as many nuts as he pleased. I think he also told his furry friends about us because before long we had a black squirrel, 3 chipmunks, and way to may blue jays. It was a war zone for peanuts.
Oh, how I love my fuzzy little animals.
